Deep End Events and Meetings

Deep End host a range of events throughout the year, encompassing a variety of speakers covering a range of topics. 

We try and alternate days, being aware that most of us are also practicing clinicians.

Some events are open to all, some of our meetings are closed. 

Study Days

We host annual study days, where we bring together different speakers for a full day of learning

Round Table Events

We hold several round table events through out the year, smaller agendas than the study day and usually with an overarching theme. We also brainstorm for new ideas. These are half day events, starting with lunch and networking. 

Steering Group

Our steering group meets every 4-6 weeks for about an hour, virtually. We'll discuss arising issues, talk about projects in motion and future planning for the larger events. Leadership Meeting (closed meetings)

The core leadership group meets on a bi-weekly basis, virtually (usually between morning and afternoon surgery!) to arrange meetings with external agencies, like PHW, Welsh Government, Clusters, targeting those who can aid the network. We review our projects, budgets, set dates for events, draft press releases and the manifesto and discuss anything that has an impact on any of our Deep End practices or patient cohorts.

Eligibility Criteria

We are keen to reach all GP practices who serve the most disadvantaged communities and groups. So we welcome anyone working in any practice who aligns with our goals and values, who are welcome to join any of our events.

However, we have Welsh Government funding that is clearly for protected time for Deep End participants, and we will continue to offer this to those working in the original 90 Deep End practices, including those that have merged with other practices who may not have been Deep End. Anyone working in one of these practices will be eligible to claim reimbursement for their time and will be eligible to become members of the steering group
